According to the International Renewable Energy Agency, renewable energy must account for 77% of all primary energy consumption by 2050 to limit the increase in global temperature to 1.5ºC.
To achieve carbon neutrality, it is estimated that power plants, heating plants, the industrial sector and the transport sector will need to reduce their annual emissions by a total of 30,.4 gigatons. The use of green hydrogen and its derivatives is expected to contribute 12% towards the carbon neutrality target.

Objectives
The main objective of H2NG is to design and develop an innovative solution, at this stage still on a laboratory scale, for a Complete Hydrogen Injection and Mixing Station in the natural gas transport (high pressure) and distribution (medium/low pressure) networks.
The Station will result from the development of 3 main subsystems, representing a solution capable of overcoming the difficulties of this type of system, namely hydrogen stratification after injection and the weakening of metal pipes.
